Release Details
This is a minor release of uSync.Complete for Umbraco v17. it contains a refreshed UI for many parts of the uSync process as we continue the work of making the complicated simple(r).
Lots of UI tweaks and a couple of "new" features in this release all work together to make it simpler to use and mange your sites in uSync.Publisher.
Simpler publishing direct from the action menu with the Publish to server button. giving a much simpler publish experience for single page publishing.
With server UI tweaks you can now choose the colour of the server!
This shows up not only as colour indicator on the border the server picker 👍
but also changes the colour of the main navigation bar on the server, so you can quickly tell what server you are actually on!
Some feedback we've had is it can be confusing when publishing from a stage server, all the existing umbraco content buttons don't quite make sense sometimes, for example you may never want to preview the stage site as you can just publish and look at it in place.
Now with button tweaks for servers, you can turn off the buttons you don't want your editors to see per server.
These changes effect all users on the server, you can still use the Umbraco permissions to change appearance based on user group - but this gives you a quick look into removing some of the buttons you otherwise can't change
Compare has always existed and in v13 it was part of the action menu. With the advent of the new "Push to server" button - compare can quickly be accessed by editors to see what the differences are between sties.
Along side some of the bigger changes, we've also tidied up and tightened a lot of the UI around the push process,
Picker box badges are now clearer so you can see what servers are available , and the server colours follow through
so there is an neater looking "push" screen
With v17, we can now add the media browser back to the media dashboard. meaning you can browse through your site compare media with other sites and even see if the crops are different.
We have worked hard with this release to really make it simpler to push and pull content between sites, and for the whole experience to be more natural to the editor as they use the site.
We are keen to hear you're views and we have more ideas coming that will hopefully continue the journey to making it all simpler again!.
